50th Anniversary Celebrations

This year, St Paul Lutheran School turns 50!

It’s a fabulous milestone, brought about through a journey begun by the St Paul congregation who made the brave decision to start a school on the church grounds, opening in 1973.

We will be noting and celebrating this birthday in a number of ways this year. You will see some regular entries in Inspire, and we will be holding events through the year, all with the theme of Reflecting in the Light.

St Paul Church is hosting thanksgiving service this Sunday, which will be attended primarily by past congregation members and founding staff members. Lutheran Church of Australia Bishop Paul Smith, a past parent of St Paul will be part of the service along with current Pastor of St Paul, Rev Matt Bishop.

In Term 2, we will be celebrating with past and present staff with a dinner and evening of fellowship.

Term 3 will see a 70s-themed quiz night for adults on Friday 1 September. Save the date and join us for a night of historical references, interesting photographs, and fun with our theme of reflecting in the light.

Finally, we will end our 50th year with a community celebration on Barton Reserve, on Friday 10 November. This is a family-friendly community event for St Paul Lutheran School community members young and old!

We have a fabulous 50th Anniversary organising team of past and present staff led by Mr Jason Fay and Mrs Jane Sabel, and I give my sincere thanks to them and their team for the work that they have already put in last year and over the summer to prepare for this year.
